Welcome to the Tavern Quilt Guild—a vibrant community of passionate quilters who share a love for creativity, tradition, and innovation. Whether you’re an experienced quilter or just starting to explore the magic of fabric and thread, our guild is the perfect place to find inspiration, learn new techniques, and connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Regular Meetings
Workshops and Classes are the first Tuesday of every month at 10 am in the Tavern Meeting Building,
directly behind Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern in Heathsville, VA.
Studio hours are Thursday through Saturday 10am – 2pm in the Artisans Store.

Membership in our guild comes with access to resources and a supportive network of like-minded quilters. Plus, by joining, you’re supporting our efforts to preserve the art of quilting for future generations and being a part of the traditions the Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern.
We’d love for you to be part of our quilting family. Come for the quilts, stay for the camaraderie!
Special Events
Our guild hosts a variety of activities, including educational programs, workshops, quilting bees, and community projects that bring us together to create something truly special. We have the added benefit of having a Quilt Studio to display our wares at the historic Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern. Where we can share the love of quilting as well as displaying the creativity of our members.
One of our favorite events is our annual Quilt Bingo on the 3rd Saturday of August at 1:00, where you can play for a chance to win a stunning handmade quilt! It’s a fun-filled day of laughter, excitement, and creativity—perfect for quilters and quilt-lovers alike. This November, we will also be participating in the Tavern’s Artisan Fair, where we will be selling and displaying our quilts and other handmade items.
